SeeSaw - Digital Portfolios For Any Classroom

Have you heard of Seesaw?!?! Seesaw is an amazing app and web based tool for students, teachers, and families!! This is my first year using Seesaw and I absolutely LOVE IT!! Seesaw empowers students to take ownership of their learning and to reflect on their progress over time. It also gives students tools to show what they know in the way that works best for them! This neat tool inspires students to try their best by providing an audience for their work beyond the classroom. It also creates meaningful home to school connections so families can better support their child's learning.

How do we use it you ask... I started off the school year by using it to send parents important reminders, upload newsletters, and post pictures of our learning! It began as a tool for parent communication and has transformed into so much more! Now my students use it to post on their portfolio! They can share their work by uploading pictures and can add text or a recording to explain to their families what they are learning about and how they completed a project or activity. Students can "show what they know" using photos, videos, drawings, tex, PDFs, and links! You read that right!! Even in my kindergarten classroom, my kids can upload items straight to their journal and it is immediately accessible for me to view and give feedback! You may be wondering how it's so easy... Well, Seesaw has a built in support for a QR code sign in making it simple for my 5 and 6 year old learners to sign in! Students can also use an email address or a Google account to sign in making it a perfect tool for any K-12 classroom!

From a teacher's perspective, Seesaw saves time on organization and parent communication, makes formative assessment easy, and provides a safe place to teach 21st Century skills. I hope you will take the time to give Seesaw a look and explore all the great features this tool has to offer! it is a great app to use with your students and families!
