Day 2- No Electricity and Hunt for Chester!

This morning started off a little differently! Our campus had minimal electricity for a little while, but we still had a great time learning! The kiddos did a great job despite the lack of lights (thankfully we have a window that lets in lots of natural light). I'm grateful for everyone that helped get the electricity turned back on quickly!

While we were in the classroom, we started centers! Each day we will have reading and math centers! Today our centers included reading and coloring a Chester book, putting together an alphabet puzzle, practicing working together with building blocks, and using tangrams to create pictures! We will practice center rotations each day this week!

In the afternoon we read The Kissing Hand! It's one of my favorite books! After we finished the book, we found a note from Chester Racoon! He took us on a tour of the school. We met many new people that will help us during each school day including Miss Heather, Ms. Lisa, Nurse Jennifer, and Ms. Pickle! The children loved looking for Chester and we were so excited to find a treat he left for us in the classroom. We didn't catch Chester this time though! He was just too quick!!

The playground was too wet to play on the equipment, so we had concrete recess with chalk!! They had a great time drawing outside!!

We had a wonderful second day of kindergarten!!
