Arboretum Field Trip

We had a great time at the Dallas Arboretum yesterday!! We spent most of our time in the children's garden! There were lots of science activities to explore and learn about! Then we went to the pumpkin patch! It was beautiful and we liked seeing the different types of pumpkins! After that we finally sat down for lunch. We were very hungry from all the walking we'd done. After lunch it was time for a restroom break before loading the bus. On the trip back several friends fell asleep. It was a fun and busy adventure for sure! I just wish we would've had a little more time to explore! It went by so fast! Thanks to everyone who made this trip possible! It was a great learning experience for our students!!

Hello Families!! We've had a great start to the 2nd Six Weeks of school! Take a look at our newsletter for the week. Tuesday is our field trip to the Dallas Arboretum. Their lunch should be send in a disposable bag. I will send home a brown paper sack on Monday that you can use for your child's lunch. We are looking forward to this awesome adventure! Beginning of the 2nd Six Weeks

This week starts the 2nd Six Weeks of school!! It seems like each day goes by faster than the one before! This week we are learning about numbers 6-10. We are creating sets, tracing numbers with gel baggies, using playdoh mats to help with one to one correspondence, and filling in ten frame mats with two color counters!

In ELA, we are learning about joins! The Grammaropolis app helped us that nouns are persons, animals, places, things, and ideas!

During math prime time we used Starfall to help us learn about addition to ten!

We are having a great week!

Take a look at our newsletter for the week!

It's been a fabulous week at school! We had a great time on our community helpers field trip yesterday and enjoyed visiting with out moms during Movie with Mom this afternoon! Please read the 'Dates to Remember' and get those events on your calendar. Also, there is information about our Arboretum field trip in your child's folder. Please read the information, fill out your child's permission form, and send it back to school as soon as possible. We are excited about that upcoming trip and I need everyone's permission form in order for your child to attend. Parents may go to the Arboretum too! The letter has information on what we need from parents. Parents that go will take a small group with them as we travel around the Arboretum. My plan is to have at least 4 parents go with us that way we can have 4-5 children in each group. If you have any questions about this trip please let me know!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
